This paper is about the importance of engagement, cohesion and clarity in offshore outsourcing projects. The focus is on how the communication is handled between co-workers in different countries. My research is based on qualitative studies of literature on the subject, along with interviews with leaders in various companies in Sweden that utilize offshoring to countries in Asia. This study shows that the companies interviewed who utilize offshoring are all taking care to create engagement, cohesion and clarity in their offshore offices. It also shows that companies can succeed with their offshore strategy without using agile development methods, contrary to what literature on the subject recommends.

AbstractThis thesis is a qualitative study that provides an insight into the Nordic offshore market, focusing on the North Sea and investigates indications of how the near future may develop in the area and how these developments may affect the Nordic seafarers. Questions central to the work are aimed primarily at how shipping companies, agencies and seafarers active in the offshore industry look at future activity in the North Sea, Nordic seafarers' status in the global labor market, and how today's employment conditions look like for seafarers in the global offshore industry. The majority of the information was collected through interviewes and questionnaires. The purpose of this study was to examine whether and how the expected development in the North Sea, in terms of availability of oil and gas, may have effect on the Scandinavian seafarers' future work prospects and employment conditions in the global offshore labor. The conclusions that have been drawn are that competition among seafarers in the offshore industry is higher 2015 than previous years (2000-2014) and are expected to increase.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att öka förståelsen och beskriva hur små svenska företag som har offshore outsourcat sin produktion till tillväxtmarknader hanterar relationen med leverantören. Vi har i denna uppsats använt oss av en kvalitativ metod och genomfört en flerfallsstudie på tre stycken mindre svenska företag.   Teoretiska referensramen är främst inriktad på två teoretiska områden; offshore outsourcing och relationer. Dessa har vidare delats in i tre huvudblock för att ge en så lättöverskådlig bild som möjligt samt att täcka in de väsentliga delarna som krävs för att besvara syftet. De tre huvudblocken är följande; relationsetablering, relationsstyrning och relationskoordinering. Den teoretiska referensramen har sedan sammanställts i en teoretisk syntes som analytiskt sammankopplar teorin och ligger till grund för analysen.

Offshoring, att ett företag delar av sin verksamhet till ett annat land, har blivit allt mer uppmärksammat, både av IT-företag och av fackpress. I denna uppsats har vi undersökt hur informanter vid tre företag i Sverige anser att deras företag har påverkats, organisatoriskt, efter det att de startade sin offshoring till Indien. Utöver detta har informanter vid kringliggande organisationer i den svenska IT-sektorn intervjuats för att ge sin syn på hur offshoring kan påverka den svenska IT-sektorn och dess företag. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att de undersökta företagen har påverkats genom förbättrade arbetsprocesser inom organisationen. Personal har omplacerats eller vidareutbildats inom organisationen.

Att finna nya vägar för att reducera och effektivisera verksamheten blir allt vanligare bland dagens företag. Världen blir mindre och företag finner möjligheter att utveckla sin verksamhet med hjälp av andra företag. Detta innebär att de nationella gränserna alltmer börjar suddas ut, att söka internationella partners har därmed blivit allt vanligare för att integrera ny teknik och innovationer i verksamheten. Att välja att offshora delar av verksamheten till Indien innebär ofta nya utmaningar för företaget. I denna affärsrelation kommer företaget att möta kulturella, kommunikativa och organisatoriska skillnader.

In offshore oil production FMC Subsea systems use a product called cap. The cap´s mainly task is to protect hubface and seal areas on inboard hub against dirt, corrosion and mechanical damage under installation of a subsea system. A new model of a cap has been designed and analysed using finite element method. The model is called KC3-12 and has a new function, emergency release, which is a backup method for the ROV (remote operated vehicle) to release the cap from the hubface when it is placed under water. The cap KC3-12 was found to fulfil the criteria under the test load pressure, according to ASME VIII, div2.

Vi har i denna uppsats studerat vilka faktorer som påverkar de rörliga bolåneräntorna på den svenska marknaden. Detta har vi gjort genom att intervjua fem svenska banker, en tillsynsmyndighet samt ta del av information från Riksbanken. Vi har även undersökt sambandet mellan Riksbankens reporänta och de utvalda svenska bankernas rörliga (3 månader) bolåneräntor över en tioårsperiod. Sambandet har visat sig starkt men det har försvagats sedan finanskrisen 2008. Vår undersökning visar att de viktigaste faktorerna som påverkar rörliga bolåneräntor är: bankernas upplåning, regleringsstandarder, klimatet på finansiella marknader, bankernas strategier, produktkostnader, riskpremier, konkurrenter, bankernas marknadsförutsättningar samt låntagarens förutsättningar.

The use of technology in today's society is frequent and often necessary, but how, when and where are we supposed to learn how to use it? And if it is such a big and important part of our society, then why don?t teachers get more training in how to use the technology? The purpose of this paper is to examine whether teachers attitudes to technology affects their use of technology in their teaching. In school technology can be a complementary to other material, if teachers have the necessary skills to use technology in a pedagogical way. I have chosen to do a qualitative study in form of interviews and observations at a school outside of Stockholm. The results show that both school and teachers must want to work with technology if anyone will be getting something out of it.

Detta examensarbete är en undersökning av The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) statistik rörande operationer med dynamisk positionering (DP) inom 500-meterzonen. Statistiken har sedan jämförts med resultaten från en enkät som skickats ut till berörda nautiker och personal i land. I enkäten har deltagarna fått ge sin personliga uppfattning om hur fem övergripande kategorier för orsaker till incidenter, härledda ur IMCAs inrapporterade material, bör rangordnas efter vilken kategori som anses mest trolig att orsaka en incident. Resultatet visar på en skillnad vad gäller operatörens roll i IMCAs statistik och vad som upplevs inom offshore-industrin. Samma resultat återfinns oavsett hur lång arbetslivserfarenhet man har av DP och oavsett om man arbetar till sjöss eller på en säkerhetsavdelning i land..

The purpose of this paper is to find out if technology within pedagogy can help pupils with dyslexiaperform on the same level as their peers without using compensatory aid. Is it possible to replacethe compensatory aids with the technology in question? Can the same technology also be used tosupport other pupils as well and in turn removing the stigma of needing compensatory aid?To learn the answers to these questions I have done a qualitative text analysis. This analysis focuson technology in the form of podcasts and Web 2.0 based teaching platforms. The analysis alsofocus on pupils with dyslexia and what kind of help compensatory aids can be.

This paper examines how and if the understanding of wedding photography has changed during the shift of technology - from analog to digital photography. It examines if the changed conditions due to the shift of technology have changed the habits and conditions for the photographers working with wedding photography. It furthermore examines what impact these habits and conditions have had on the pictures of weddings. The investigation is based on interviews of six photographers that have worked professionally before and after the shift of technology, as well as of pictures by the photographers taken before and after the shift of technology.Use of time and space has changed due to the shift of technology. The change has also had an influence on hierarchy among the photographers.

Outsourcing has grown more so than any other sector of IT services. According to a research by the analytic company Gartner soon four of ten jobs in the IT sector will be outsourced. For a nation like Sweden that means about 40,000 jobs going abroad. Business managers look to outsourcing as a means of reducing their operating cost and their need for capital spending. Companies turn to outsourcing to save money and seek expertise outside.
